It all looked nice and friendly over in Pai, then I saw the extra 300bt charge!

I believe this visa is also available for multiple entries of 90 days with a visa validity of one year. I have done this in the past.

It certainly is confusing. In the past it was always 90 days per entry. I just wondered if there has been a change...

I understand what you are saying but that is not what the Embassy is telling us.

That's what I thought, however the London Embassy Web page states, about Non-immigrant visas generally: 'Multiple Entries Visa will be valid for 1 year from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa. However, the permitted length of stay is up to 1 year from the date of your arrival in Thailand. Please carefully note the immigration stamp in your passport to make sure that you do not overstay your visa.'

I've been coming to Thailand regularly for the past 8 years and have never felt or experienced any discrimination based on colour by immigration, or any other Thai officials. Always allowed in without any problems on SETVs and visa exemptions ... so far.

I did the same a couple of years ago. The officer pointed it out and said, effectively, 'don't do it again'. No stamp or fine...

This sounds like a temporary problem. I'm sure they'll be back to normal as soon as they can. The King's funeral was a big deal to most Thais...
