Right. That’s what my husband and I were planning to do but the US embassy website has an option for applying online for the Non-O. Maybe it’s relatively new. But it’s the same website I used a few months ago to apply for the tourist visa.

Health insurance and background check are required for the Non-OA. The Non-O doesn’t require that. I’m getting this info from the Thai Embassy website here in the US. But I seem to recall seeing a post in this group that someone said they did have to show 3 months of insurance when they applied online for the OA.

I’m considering applying online for my non-O. What country did you apply from?

I realized after the first response my question was kinda silly. But better to know than to just guess. Thanks for the replies.

Seriously? Blaming the president for Visa rejection because you didn’t supply the documents required? Yes, I had mine denied too but I simply asked what documents they needed and gave them every bit they asked for. Boom! Visa approved.

It’ll help you learn to live more minimally for sure. Having done it for nearly 5 years already we feel like we’re prepared to move abroad and not miss so many “things.” We’ll still keep a small shed on some property we own in Arizona and we can keep some things in there but we’ll see after a year or so what we still want to keep and maybe bring back to Thailand at some point.

I just saw your other comment about eventually moving to Hua Hin. We really like that area and a bit further north in Cha-am. That breeze you get daily down there really helps make the heat and humidity more tolerable.
