Can you use the Onward Ticket website to secure an onward flight for a non-immigrant O visa application in Thailand?

Has anyone successfully used the Onward Ticket website in order to apply for a non-immigrant O visa online? Seems the 48 hour validity might not work in this case. Since we have a one way flight to Thailand, they’ll want to see an onward ticket within 90 days of arrival.

UPDATE: I decided to just get a cheap one way ticket to Kuala Lumpur from Bangkok. Who knows, maybe we’ll even use it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll turn off commenting but will keep the post for future reference for others in a similar situation.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses using the Onward Ticket website for obtaining an onward ticket needed for applying for a non-immigrant O visa, particularly highlighting concerns about the 48-hour validity of such tickets. An update mentions purchasing a real onward ticket from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur as a solution. Comments provide insights on the likelihood of ticket validity checks by authorities and the risks associated with purchasing fake tickets.

Why mess around buying fake tickets?? And worrying about someone might check it?? You can buy a real one, to a neighbouring country for like £20, I myself bought one of them fake tickets once, I didn't even use it, it looked so fake like someone had just made it on a word document, sure it had a booking reference, I enter it into the airlines website and it brought up a booking, but the only information on the booking was my name, obviously fake if anyone checked up, it was £14 for the fake ticket why bother 🤷🙆🤦

The website I’m speaking of seems to be legit and I’ve seen several people say they’ve used them no problem. But the $16 ghost ticket is only valid for about 48 hours and most people use them to get on the international flight from their home country. Yes, there are inexpensive ticket to nearby countries and I think that’s what I’m going to do after all. Mainly because I’m trying to apply online for a visa and it’s likely they won’t process the application until after the ticket has become invalid.

The odds they actually check your ticket for validity are pretty close to 0.

But there are onward travel sites that let you pay a little extra to keep your ticket valid for 1-2 weeks if you're worried.

I thought the same thing until I read more on the website. Since they pull info of real flights you have the option to actually purchase the flight through them. I sent them an email asking if it would be any cheaper than going through an airline directly and they wrote back saying it’s likely cheaper to go through the airline.

I didn't know that they actually purchased a ticket. I thought they created a dummy one based upon the variables you enter, and I thought the booking reference was a fictious one. I learn something new every day!

I’m going to be starting the application online for the Non-O and if it all works out I’ll definitely be posting my experience. Though I Know it could be different based on the country and specific embassy applied through.

There's also a lot of misinformation too so it's important for people to identify misinformation and post on groups like this with the correct/current information

It’s crazy the amount of info we can gather from the internet! I try to find things out on my own but sometimes, like in the case of my question here, it’s not always easy to get an answer to specific question. I appreciate your feedback and answer to my post.

Not an attorney. I've just spent the last couple of years in these type of groups reading every post since Covid when I first wanted to travel to Thailand and I had to do a LOT of research back then.

gotcha, Tks, Brandon, are you a attorney? U seem to be very knowledgeable in matters of Thai visa’s.

it's not like people are trying to stay forever. They still get an entry stamp that still requires them to leave. But some embassies don't recognize that you can apply for an extension so there's no other way to get your visa without spending an extra $1000 to purchase an extra exit ticket you won't use or purchasing a changeable (refundable price) ticket.

These websites basically purchase you a refundable ticket then cancel it after a couple of days. How is that any different from you doing this yourself. So you have a fully legal ticket and apply for your visa then cancel your ticket. It's literally the same thing you're just letting someone else deal with the airline for you. There's no fraud involved.

@Brandon ***********
I disagree but try if you want. You are committing fraud when you do and if caught the authorities have every right to deport you and ban you given you show no respect for their laws. Let me guess, you expect visitors in your home country to follow the rules, right?

I just Google "onward travel ticket" and browse the results until I find one that offers what I need at a price I'm okay with
