What documents do I need to apply for a Non-O visa online as a US citizen in Thailand?

I’m looking to hear from anyone from the US who recently applied online and got approved for a Non-O visa. I’m thinking my husband and I will want to apply this way so it’s one less thing to do once we arrive in Thailand.

I’ve reviewed the document requirements on the e-visa website but I wonder if there are any other documents you needed to provide that might not be listed. I felt that was my experience last November when I applied for the tourist visa. Kept having to provide more documents that weren’t clearly mentioned on the website.

It seems very straightforward as to what is needed. Just want to be as prepared as possible when we submit the applications.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks advice from US expats who recently applied for a Non-O visa online, expressing concerns about additional documentation not listed on the e-visa website. Despite reviewing the requirements, they feel uncertain because of previous experiences with unexpected document requests for a tourist visa. Community comments emphasize checking both the embassy and e-visa websites for specific requirements based on the reason for the Non-O visa application, such as age, financial means, and whether additional documents may be required. The poster has clarified their inquiry regarding the eligibility criteria for the Non-O visa, further complicating their understanding of the financial requirements.

it's 50 or over

You have to show either 800,000thb in a Thai bank or you have to show a year's deposits into a Thai bank of 65,000thb every month.

I have a buddy that uses retirement visa, he is also from the US. He tells me it's better to get the visa in Thailand than to get it while your in the US. Is reason is that the insurance requirements are different.

I think every time I apply for an eVisa they ask for more documents, I guess it's normal. If you are in country you can do the visa your self (1900 + bunches of headache) or you can pay someone to do it for you,

Thanks to everyone who has answered and provided help.

If I’m reading the info on the embassy and e-visa sites correctly, is the Non-O visa ONLY for people 50 and over who have monthly income (pension) in addition to the 800,000 baht? Has anyone that doesn’t have a monthly pension but sufficient funds in the bank successfully applied and been approved for a Non-O?

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I suddenly have more questions!

You may find additional help on the website of the Thai embassy nearest to you, to supplement the manual in the top right corner of the e-visa website.

You need to check the embassy website, not just the evisa application. The embassy is the one processing your application, so you have to meet their requirements.

Documentation is going to depend on the reason your applying for the Non Imm O. It's issued for marriage, Thai dependents, being over 50 and volunteering

Start the process to see the specific documents required. You can save at any time and go back to your application as you gather the required documents.
