My bank, Bangkok Bank, will provide me a letter to give to immigration to verify that I have completed the required deposits.

I called a local branch in Pattaya and was told thay can provide this letter but that I must go back to my branch in Bangkok to get my letter.

My question is: does anyone know if this is true or not?

I must go to Bangkok twice once to submit request and again to pick up letter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster was informed by Bangkok Bank that they must return to their branch in Bangkok twice to obtain a letter for immigration verification of required deposits. However, numerous comments suggest otherwise, indicating that any branch of Bangkok Bank can issue such a letter, often on the spot for a fee of around 100-200 THB. Several users recommend visiting branches that are conveniently located near immigration offices to handle the process in one visit.

Go to the branch near immigration Jomtien they know how to do it.

Any branch of Bangkok Bank will give you a letter verifying you bank details. The cost is 100 THB and you will have the letter while you wait. Usually less than 10 minute wait.

Where are you now

As stated above, any branch can do statements and letters, it just gets harder if you leave it 12mths.

As John stated above any branch can do a 6mth statement on the spot for 100฿ or for a 12mth you have to pay 200฿ and wait 7-10 days for it to be done in BKK. Whilst it may be too late for this one, my advice (given here a number of times) is, every 2nd 90 day report just spend 5min in bank to get a statement and then the following 2nd 90 day report go to bank and get the 6mth statement (most make a small withdrawal so the statement has the current days balance on it) AND the letter from the manager.

Then straight to immigration for another 12mth visa.

I am probably biased as I am in Udon Thani with the Bangkok bank 50m from immigration office and always fast and easy processing.

stay persistent, be polite, be smiling, keep repeating your willing to pay any “fee” or charges… eventually they will find a way 🤣

Yeah as said its rubbish my branch is in pattaya and my immigration is in nongbua lamphu i got statements and guarantee letter from them in town for a small charge

Confused here, as many have said any branch can give you the letter. Or do you need the original documentation about from where your funds arrived in Thailand from? Mine come to my Bangkok Bank Branch, and if your account is in Bangkok there maybe some truth to this. I have found the Jomtien branch of Bangkok Bank to be quite helpful at all matters

What you require from your bank will vary depending on what extension you want. For retirement you need 12 months of statements so your branch has to request this from head office. The branch can do up to 6 months locally. You can get both the additional letter required and update your book on the day but as others have pointed out the letter can be up to 7 days old

Typical ridiculous rules... Likely true, unless you get an agent to do things for you

Any branch can do it. I have got the letter twice from branch closer to where I drive for immigration. 5 min and done. Need banknote and passport and they will issue for you. 200thb

Thanks y'all!

Any branch can get it but if it's 12 months statements You need then they have to put request into the main branch in Bangkok and You have to wait 10 days or they send them to your local Bangkok Bank branch ,I did this in April in Phuket for my retirement visa 12 month extension
Jonas *************
Yeah i just had to do this because bankbook wasnt updated for each month. Useless
Linda ***********
@Andy *****
yes... 2 weeks for copies to arrive to branch fromm bkk.. for 1 year of statements. Then bank mgr letter must be submitted with all financial docs within 1 week from date of letter.
Carlos *********
Any one can do it for a fee.

The Bangkok Bank near immigration at Jomtien do it, one visit
Michael ********
Any branch can do they is telling you porkies
Robert ******
Rubbish any branch can issue it, my branch is in Ratchaburi and i got one i Hua hin

There's a BKK Bank branch under Immigration at Chaeng Watthana - they open at 8:30am so make an appointment with Immigration at say 9:30am and it can all be done in one visit.

The bank letter must be dated on the same date as your immigration visit.

Please stop spreading misinformation. Bank letter and statements if using 65k/month method can be obtained at any branch up to seven days prior to application date. The statements require three days notice, so leaving it until the day of application is unworkable
Don *********
@Bobby *******
they printed my statements plus a one page letter stating my balance (required for the marriage visa) were done on the spot
Bobby ********
@Don ********
Good for you. Most people prefer to have the required documents before they go to immigration. Considering there's a seven day allowance, most wouldn't leave it to chance. The branch at CW will not give printed statements on the day.
Kool *******
@Don ********
that's not true. The bank letter can be up to seven days. What has to be done on the day of applying is your bank book must be updated, with a copy made.
Don *********
But regardless can be all done on the day of the Immigration visit
Don *********
@Kool ******
not according to my sources
Bobby ********
@Don ********
I'd give your sources the sack. They are wrong. Seven days is allowable. The only thing that has to be done on the day is a bank book update

@Kool ******
is correct that Chaeng Watthana will accept bank letters up to a week old, as long as the bank book is updated on the day of application. That's in their written instructions, and is also my personal experience - I got my bank letter a day or two ahead of time for my last several extensions. I don't know about Jomtien, though, which is where the OP plans to apply.
