 the woman helping me said that her branch needs an appointment. She said other branches don't require an appointment. I was happy to take the appointment as I need time to find a rental.

Just left both banks. Bangkok Bank said new accounts for property owners only. Kasikorn gave me an appointment for Friday and said I just needed a rental agreement in addition to my visa and passport and I should be good.
