What is the maximum duration for a Thai tourist visa and are there any extension options?

Depends on your passport country holder. Usually, you will be granted only 60 days and you have to apply for an extension which will grant for 30 days; 90 days in total. But if you want 90 days single visa. Must be other visa type such as Non- immigrant visa. E.g. education visa with single entry which will allow you to stay for 90 days.
