For reference: When my wife did her interview for her fiancé visa she was pretty far down the line. She guessed 20 ladies went in before her. Most were for tourist visa 1-2 for fiancé. If I remember correctly all but one were denied.

Next to impossible if she doesn’t have all that Garrett outlined already.

shit that’s really good. I just googled it so it certainly can be wrong. I just noticed it’s 2.5 years old also.

but make sure you include fees. That’s just the rate.

I read money gram charges 2% for over $500. That’s $200 per $10K transfer.

Wise is about $70. So that makes up for the 2k baht and then some.

Wise (as stated already) is the best or direct wire transfer bank to bank.

I did that (wire transfer) with Bank of America. Same day deposit. But I got wrecked on exchange rate.

I did not know that. That’s some serious double standard bullshit.

calm down bro. I didn’t say it was fair or not. That’s not my problem. They make the laws and we have to follow them. Believe me I know all about how it works. My wife is a US citizen. Don’t lecture me on immigration.

You think I am happy to put a large sun of money in a Thai bank? Of course not but that’s the rule, so it’s done. And I don’t bitch about it because that is wasted energy. Kind of like sending 5-6 text replies to my absolutely correct comment. 😂

because they don’t want to do it right and put money in the bank.

I have a friend who was in a remarkably similar situation. He is American. Wife was born in Thailand but lived in America and was a citizen since childhood. She was now in her 40s/50s.

She went to Thailand with her US passport and did a visa exempt entry. While in Thailand took her Thai birth certificate and I believe she needed a family witness or two and was able to do exactly what you are trying to do.

One she has established her Thai citizenship again obviously she can come and go to both places as she pleases. As far as you, once she has her Thai status reestablished you can do a Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai.

00% correct. Absolutely drives me insane when someone asks the most simple direct question, I’m interested in the answer and I have to filter through 29 answers that are 100% irrelevant.
