Do I need to inform local immigration when moving provinces on an OA retirement visa in Thailand?

Hello and first thank-you for all the team working to support this site .. great work!

My question, I am currently on an OA retirement visa extension ( expires Aug 24). I am currently living on Koh Samui but soon will be moving full time up north and so to another province . Am I correct in saying I only have to ensure a new TM30 address is filed ASAP. I do not need to inform Samui immigration locally of my departure ?

Thanks for the support. Mark

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired whether they need to inform local immigration in Koh Samui when moving to a new province while holding an OA retirement visa. Commenters clarified that it's not necessary to inform the immigration office about the departure, but it's essential to file a new TM30 with the new address promptly. Additionally, the user should check if the new province requires the submission of TM28.

You don't have to inform your "departure" from that province. You need to submit TM30 with your new address at least. You also need to check if the destination province (where you will stay as a 'primary' address) requires you to submit TM28 or not as there are a few provinces that still enforce TM28.
