How can I change my Non-B teaching extension of stay when moving from Chonburi to Sisaket, and possibly switch to a marriage extension?

Hi, I’m moving from Chonburi to Sisaket - how would I change my Non - B teaching extension of stay to the new province? I’ve read previous posts, but I won’t be able to cancel my extension in Chonburi and get to Sisaket immigration on the same day. Ideally I want to change my extension of stay to marriage as well. Tia

TLDR : Answer Summary
To change your Non-B teaching extension of stay while moving from Chonburi to Sisaket, you cannot simply update it according to your new province as it is tied to your workplace. Consider these options: 1. Cancel your current extension in Chonburi several days before moving and then apply for a new yearly extension based on marriage at the Sisaket immigration office. 2. When applying for a new extension in Chonburi, you could potentially change the reason for the extension to marriage, and after moving, update the address with the new marital status.

A 1-year extension is workplace-based. You cannot change it according to your living address. You need to ask your employer to change your workplace along with how to handle your extension.

If you want to change the employment extension in Chonburi to a marriage extension in Sisaket, maybe you have a few options

1. cancel the current extension in Chonburi several days in advance then apply for a new yearly extension based on marriage in Sisaket

2. change the reason for an extension when applying for a new extension next time in Chonburi, then move to Sisaket and change the address for your marriage extension

There may be better options. Let's see what

thanks, this sounds like a good option. Theoretically, how long in advance can I cancel my current extension? I take it my extension is still valid during the cancellation period. I have a new employer up in Sisaket who will provide all the documents (just in case this makes any difference)

As long as you are applying for a marriage extension, your new employer's documents don't matter for the extension.

BUT if you want to go for another extension based on employment/teaching with a new employer, it would be a totally different story...

, how long in advance depends on the immigration offices. Some accept a few weeks earlier, some accept only a few days. Check with the Immigration office that issued your extension and your employer. You need documents from your current employer in advance.

You will apply for cancellation on, let's say, April 5, saying the last date of working is April 15. You will get a new stamp with a new expiry date of April 15. (national holiday doesn't matter for a stamp)

Then you will go to the new IO on or before April 12 (because of holidays) to apply for a new extension.

, get the latest requirements at Sisaket well before you are applying for your extension there to check.

I post canceled mine with help from the school 15 days before the extension expired.
