Hey peeps, can anyone advice on:

1. Any tips on alternatives for apps/platforms (True Money or or..?) that allow scanning for payments in Thailand if we can't open a Thai bank account on a DTV visa? -- Also, how do you top it up? I got True Money but it seems like I can only link it to a Thai bank account, which obviously defeats the purpose.

2. Anyone knows if it's possible to transfer paperwork when buying a motorbike? I'm not sure it can be done on a DTV visa? If so, any idea of what documents are needed?

Hi everyone,

I bought a motorbike and went to the Land Transportation Office 1 in Chiang Mai to register it in my name.

They told me I need to go to the Fang District branch (สำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ สาขาฝาง), where the bike was originally registered.

I have the green book, signed transfer papers, and a copy of the seller’s ID ready.

Has anyone here done this before or had to go through the same process?

Can I do the ownership transfer and deregister the bike there, and then register it under my name back in Chiang Mai?

Also, if I really have to make the 3-hour ride up there, any tips or nice stops on the way?

Might turn it into an overnight trip and a little tour 😅
