Hi, is this forum good for customs advice also? If so, I want to give away my Malay-registered 125cc motorbike. Any idea if that is legal?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the legality of giving away a Malay-registered 125cc motorbike in Thailand. It emphasizes that since the bike is not Thai-registered, it typically cannot be sold in Thailand without proper paperwork, which must be handled in Malaysia. Concerns about the implications if the bike gets damaged were also raised, along with plans to visit Immigration and Customs for further clarification.

Okay,
@Gar****
, Marc, or Andy, what if I get in a wreck and it is totaled? Do I have to carry it back to Thailand? Sorry, I didn't mention that it is just a 125cc with 54,000 km.

No

You need to take it back to Malaysia. You cannot sell it here as the papers with your name in need to be transferred in ML only.

Hey Mark, so you have a non Thai registered motorbike in Thailand? I assume it was brought in on a temporary import permit, has that expired?
