this is very confusing. Some people appear to have left the country, while the moderator says I must remain in the country until after the visa has been issued. This could not possibly be correct if you know people who left the country to get the visa

so am I not required to leave the country at all? Sorry but the evisa website is confusing and the people are saying it's very difficult to process the visa after they get to Malaysia.

Perhaps I am required to leave the country after I get the email confirming my visa

so how long would you expect to wait outside the country? It sounds like it's just one simple visit to the consulate or perhaps having to go again the next day for an interview

Thsnks, so do people apply and then go to the consulate later? This would save a lot of money in accommodation costs on the 4 nights in Penang. I have no choice but to go there because I am in the far south
