What do you want? You like to visit Thailand to work legal in your company as your initial question, OR do you like to visit Thailand as a retired person and not get engaged in any work and just sit out the rest of your life, OR do you now want to be a Tourist and visit some Touristic areas?

For a Non-B, you need to own a licensed, registered business. IF you're American, it's easy to do using the Treaty of Amity. If you are not an American, I recommend getting some type of "retirement" visa and keeping your online business quiet.
as Robert said : the Mukdahan/Savannakhet border is easy. As you allowed TWO entries under visa exempt in one calendar year you should be OK doing a border run there.

Did the border run at Mukdahan/Savannakhet few days ago. No issues there, fingerprint scan on Thai side by leaving and entry. After 16:00 you pay overtime fee for stamps at the Laos side. If they did not change the stickers yet, the 24 HR ATM service is actually the ticket booth to get your application for Laos Visa on Arrival.

I have a friend driving to Savannaket sunday so I am thinking to go there unless anyone has heard neg. issues there?
If you have one 30 day visa exempt entry by land for this calendar year, you can get another one without any problems. That would last you until December (30 days, and extended by another 30 days).
for his advice. Have you done any land border crossings entering Thailand in 2019 without a visa?

If you want to work for the company while being inside Thailand, you need the Non Immigrant B visa. The rules of working inside Thailand is not depending on location of your customers as many people like to think. Visit the website of the Thai Embassy in your home country and look up the needed requirements for this Non Immigrant B visa and prepare the documents before you fly home.

Are you age 50+ ?

Michael Tapley but if you work inside Thailand...cannot get the O-A...and by filing company papers poses a problem for you in getting the O-A.
Think it through....😉

we file the required papers with the gov't for the company annually
If he is inside Thailand, running his business from a Thai office or house, using Thai electric power for his laptop and aircon, using Thai internet service he is working inside Thailand and therefor needs to follow the Thai labor law and the Thai Immigration act.
then do yourself a BIG FAVOR. When back in home country get the O-A visa. Gives you up to two years of hassle free stay in Thailand. No money needed in a Thai bank. Easy to obtain. Read TOPIC link O-A visa and use search tool top of forum: enter O-A visa
