Questions about Non o dependant visa🙏 marriage certificate translation & apostille.

hello everyone, I know apostille is not officially accepted in thailand, i searched online and in this group, and could not find too much information. However my lawyer suggested me to get apostille for our French marriage certificate .

my exact questions are,

1,do we need to translate our marriage certificate to Thai before to get the apostille stamp? as thailand is not a partner, would a translation into english be useful in anyway?

2,do we need to do legalization after we get apostille?

3,Or is it easier to translate through a notary in thailand is much easier? As I will first arrive by tourist visa and convert from there.

Thank you in advance ! wish to hear your experiences about this matter.❤️

Hello. I am preparing the documents to enroll my son in an international school with an ED visa. But his birth certificate is in French and it is expected to be in English. I understood that the procedure to follow was:

1) Make a true copy at the French embassy

2) Have the document translated by an approved translator

3) Validate the translation at the French embassy

4) Legalize the document with the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The procedure seems long, especially because there are deadlines for appointments at the French embassy. Is it possible to pay someone to take care of all the steps for me or do I have to be there in person? And if my presence is expected, is it only mine or also that of my son?

Do you have any tips for speeding up the process?

Is it possible to follow the first 3 steps from another country like Malaysia or Vietnam or does it absolutely have to be done from Thailand?

(Now we are in Vietnam)

Thank you all

Hello dear community,

I have yet another question! I got married about 1.5y ago in Phuket and I am returning to Europe in a few months. In order for my country to recognise the marriage certificate, I have to legalise it through the Thai government before I can legalise it at my embassy. Is this done at the Thai Ministry of Foreign affairs? If so, do I just show up there and wait until it is my turn? And does anyone know if it could be finished the next day?

Thank you! 💚🙏

Good afternoon

Can I verify that the advise I found on this group for marriage certificates is still valid ** as we are both uk nationals with a marriage certificate that we need authorising for our next year extension .

*

Thailand is not a signatory to the apostille treaty so the apostille is not recognized as certification/authentication in Thailand.

Go to the embassy and get them to either "authenticate it" or swear an affidavit of authenticity in front of the consular officer.

You then go to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Government Complex (Chengwattana) and get their stamp on it.

Now you are authenticated and good for use in Thailand.

Many thanks

I wonder if someone can tell me about getting Kor Ror 22?

I am in the process of extending my Non O visa. We need our marriage certificate translating from English to Thai and certifying by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Chaeng Wattana to get Kor Ror 22 from Nonthaburi Amper Office.

Do we need to get the marriage certificate legalised by the British Embassy before taking it to be certified?

Learnt something new today. I went to Chaengwattana to legalize my affidavit of income to extend my stay for another year. The clerk let me know that you have to do this minimum 10 days before your previous permit expires.

Maybe something to take notice off?

Hello, I have a question is is not related to visas directly, but it more about legalizing documents at the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs in Bangkok (just near Chaeng Wattana Immigration Building). Does anyone know the price for legalizing a translation (a Thai birth certificate translated in English) there and how long does it take to do it? Thank you!
