Hello everyone. Very good information on this site. I am currently in USA and have applied for LTR-P visa on October 14th with BOI. Still shows pending on their website but I would expect to get info (approval) from them this coming week. I am a little confused about the next step in the process. I know I can applie for the actual visa from Thai Consulate in Los Angeles??? Not sure how long that process takes or additional paperwork required. However, I am due to arrive in Bangkok on December 8th. Can I or should I complete the process once I get into Bangkok? I am only going to be in Thailand for 60 days this trip and already have a 60 day visa from consulate. Thank you.

Basically they will send you a letter saying if you are approved and provide info on 2 methods to receive your visa. Either pickup it up from inside Thailand or apply from the embassy. I'll upload the email but I have to use 2 posts for the 2 screenshots.

I would recommend getting it inside Thailand since you will pay 50,000 baht. If you apply for the evisa before you come they will charge you $1700 which is vastly overpriced. (I saw one of neighboring country embassies charging $2000!!!)

Just beware you cannot complete the process of updating the final information until after you enter the country if you decide to pick it up in Thailand, since you must provide details of your entry like the visa number and a photo of your entry stamp.

very helpful. It seems like waiting until I arrive in Bangkok is best. Not sure I understand your comment about being aware cannot compete process until ???

after you get approval, you still need to fill in some information on the website to get the "approval letter. They ask things like how do you want to receive your visa.

If you want to pickup the visa inside Thailand, you cannot complete this step until you've already entered Thailand because part of what they are asking for is your entry information (which you won't have until after you enter).

But you get 60 days from the date of the email to complete that step, so as long as you're entering Thailand within 2 months of initial approval, you'll be fine.

Getting your visa sticker in Bangkok is definitely the easiest option, takes a couple of hours at BOI One Stop center (Samyan MRT), plenty of appointment time slots are usually available, it's pretty much walk-in. Get a Thai banking app ready as they only accept QR payments

they do accept cash but told me they greatly prefer Thai bank transfer

very different from Thailand Elite who charge 100 baht domestic transfer fee, but happy to accept 500k or 1m in cash without any extra fees lol

When it's approved you will pay and get an eVisa from the Thai Consulate you will use for it.

You print the PDF or email and show it to passport control when you stamp in. They should ink in a 10 year LTR visa, a 5 year admitted until stamp (if your passport is valid that long) and a 5 year multiple re-entry permit

Seeing as you have a single entry tourist visa already I do not know if the LTR is approved can you enter on the tourist visa and then just contact the One Stop Service Center at Cham Churi Square here in Bangkok to get the visa, new stay stamp and re-entry inked in.

I would contact the LTR people directly and see if (after you're approved) can do it once you're here with them.
