I’ll have my passport translated to English at my embassy. Then I’d like to legalize it.
1. Can I use any translation service in Bangkok to have my documents be translated to Thai?
2. For legalization I’ll need to take this Thai translation the the Ministry of Consular Affairs at Chaengwattana near the immigration building (as far as I know). Do I need an appointment for legalization or I can just show up and get a queue number?
Edit:
I just double checked the requirements and it says this.
“A copy of the passport translated into Thai and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”.
So do I need to go to the Foreign Affairs and not the Consular Affairs? They are two different places. And I just need to certify it and not legalize it?
This is for divorce purposes, if that matters.
Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to translate and legalize their passport in Thailand for divorce purposes. They ask whether any translation service can be used for Thai translation, and if an appointment is necessary for legalization at the Ministry of Consular Affairs. Additional clarification is requested regarding needing to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to certify the translation instead. Comments from other users indicate the process involves visiting Chaengwattana, booking an appointment online, and using translation services at a cost. They mention the steps of submitting documents, making payments, and tracking approval status.
When you pay your money you get a receipt and on the top right hand corner there's a QR code where you can check your status and see if you're approved beforehand
Go to Chaeng watthana road. There is a train station outside called Government Complex. You need to go online and book an appointment. There are translation services here at 400 baht a document. I am waiting to pick mine up now which has been approved already. First you give them all the documents including the translations.then you pay another 400 baht for each document again.then you must wait and pick up the approved legal documents on the 3rd day
Yes it's a little difficult. Search for "legalization MFA" on the home page you should see a message moving across the screen. At the end of this message there is another web address to click into . After you click scroll the the bottom of the screen and press confirm. Should take you to the booking screen. Let me know how you get on. I can send you a link when I get home from my laptop
