TLDR : Answer Summary
The differences in the legalization application process between the Thai embassies in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles have raised questions among expats. Comments suggest that the processes are determined by the embassies' individual rules, with some advising against trying to apply logic to the discrepancies. The conversation highlights the importance of location in determining application procedures and mentions the use of third-party services for handling the legalization process.
I just paid a 3rd party service provider to take care of it for me. It took them a total of 5 weeks to authenticate at the Dept of State and Thai Embassy in DC. Did the state part myself

Based on your location you can only apply at one so why bother about the other?

Thatโs probably something youโd need to ask them. Their rules, their process.
