TLDR : Answer Summary
After applying for an extension letter from the British embassy and not hearing back within the promised two working days, you should consider contacting them again on the next working day, which is Monday. Many users have found that a follow-up email can expedite their request, so reaching out for updates is advisable, especially given the busy nature of the embassy.

Contact them again.

They are very busy.

And you cannot submit your extension request to immigration until one or two days before your current permission to stay ending date...they are busy too.
