I have recently been in that situation so know the position.

You need to immediately do a police report. You need to register on line with the Uk embassy to get an emergency travel document. I think someone has put the link on this feed. It took 24 hours to get my daughters and 48 hours to get mine issued.

Without this you will definitely not be allowed to fly. The airline will not let you check in. You may have to get a new flight.

If you have a thai visa in your stolen passport and you are returning to Thailand. Bring your original paperwork etc if you have it along with the police report and it can be moved to your new passport when you return to thailand.

Good luck

I did same with my german passport. 2 possibilitys : do report at police , go to embassy for accident passport . ---- or you have a document of birth , or your Office in your country send it per Mail to embassy and do accident passport. In this case you don' t need to go to police. --- In my case they need 2 days to finish passport

You should be able to get an emergenct travel document from the embassy. This will allow you to travel between a maximum of 5 desitnations, the final desitnation MUST Be the UK.

I think you'll need a police report of it being stolen to get that emergency document.

Once you have that and the police report, I advise you take them to Thai immigration alongside any flight details you have when you got here - barding pass, etc.

This is to avoid any issues when you leave. Download Google Translate app if you don't have it already. You'll probably need it for filing the police report and maybe at immigration.

Sh!rry last day and I am deeply sorry to hear it. I hope this most unfortunate event has not tarred your image of Thailand.

You can get an emergency passport from the embassy if you can actually book an appointment. they are only available on certain days, but I found that I could still contact them via email on days where no appointments were available. You can get an emergency passport knocked out in a few hours, but you'll need a passport photo to do it.

I'd be more inclined to check the bins/dumpsters around where it went missing.

If it's just an opportunist they may dump half the stuff.

I was in a similar situation,

Please note to all none UK citizens.

The British embassy here in Bangkok does not issue passports.

They can only assist you with the process of getting emergency travel documents.

The emergency travel documents are done online and you print them off (there's a cost involved).

Inform your airline especially if your transiting through another country.

Keep a copy of your police report and emergency travel documents.

I missed an international flight recently. It was delayed and I miscalculated my wait time whilst plane spotting in a different part of the terminal. I then saw my plane taxiing away from the gate. I went into an anxious panic. But at least I still had the means to fix it!

1st police report

2nd contact your embassy

Once you have a timeline contact airline.

3rd receive emergency travel document

4th go to local immigration with police report and travel document/emergency passport.

They will advise or stamp depending on your entry/visa.

** you may be allowed to leave directly with the police report and emergency travel document BUT that depends on your immigration status (stamp or visa etc.)

Hopefully they can get it to you quickly.
