Hi my husband needs to open a USD account within his Krungsri bank account and has been advised that he will need a letter confirming his address book and passport, from the British Embassy. 

Can anybody help with information on this process or an agent to contact please?

Not needed. If he has a retirement visa, any type, he can open with only his passport. If his bank is a problem use another bank.

maybe foreign currency account like I had Keep the money in USD until you need Baht. Personally I can't see the point
