I've been told I need to get a copy of my passport certified by my embassy, and then translated to Thai with a certification from the MFA. The translation isn't my concern, but has anyone gotten their passport certified by the British Embassy? It seems like British passports can be certified by local notary companies, but I'm a bit lost and on a time crunch.
Does anyone know the process? And does anyone have any recommendations in the Pattaya/Sattahip area for a notary service?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for certifying a British passport in Thailand involves visiting the British Embassy in Bangkok to have the document notarized. Once certified, the passport should be translated into Thai and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Respondents suggested using local notary services in Pattaya, particularly pointing to the MFA Consular Services located in a central mall. Several comments also emphasized making an online appointment with the embassy to streamline the process and recommended translation services available in Pattaya.
To get my Super funds from Australian AMP, they requested that I send them a paper copy of my certified passport bio page, from Japan, Australian embassy. 70 AUD.
She asked about a service in Pattaya/Sattahip and the office I suggested in Pattaya works fine as far as I know. It's the MFA Consular Services. See link above.
I had to do similar activity with my US passport/marriage affidavit at the US Embassy then translated and MFA certified stamped before I got married here. Seeing as MFA is in Bangkok, we just used a translation service for picking up the copies while we were in Bangkok and then doing the translation plus doing the MFA stamp portion. They mailed the docs to us once they were finished.
