Quick COVID-extension successful report:

I arrived at 10:15am at Chiang Mai immigration at Promenada Mall. I asked to apply for a COVID-extension, they said ok. My current TR30 (US-passport visa exempt, already extended once) stamp runs out in a week, and they tried to convince me to come back a week later, but I said no thanks, it's fine, I'd rather do it today. Okay, no problem - they helped me fill out the forms, made copies for me for free, and even wrote my address (which is in Thai) for me on the form since it would have taken me three times as long. I walked inside, no wait at the counter, handed the stack of papers and 1.9k THB over; 5 minutes later, I had my passport back with "Under Consideration" stamp to come back on March 21. Left around 10:35am.

This is first, and most likely the last, time that I'll get the COVID extension, although I had a 90-day stay (TR 60-day + 30-extension) in Q3-Q4 2022 as well.

Cheers!

Hello guys,

My landlord will do my TM30 since I moved residence and will apply for another Covid-extension this week. Last week, I received my new passport (since my old one was expired).

When my landlord fills out the TM30, I know she needs arrival card number and passport number. Which passport number do I give? The old passport connected to arrival card or my new passport number which I will get the new visa on?

I will transfer the previous Visa from my old to the new passport on Thursday also

Thank you so much as always for the help :)

Hi,

I understand that there are different ways of how Covid-Extensions are processed in different immigration offices and I am wondering about how it is right now in Bangkok.

I am currently on a TR-60 Visa.

1. Do I need to apply for a 30-Day-Extension of my TR-Visa before I can apply for a Covid-Extension?

1. As I understand from what I have read in the group so far: If I apply for a Covid-Extension for the first time, the “Covid-Extension-Days” would be added to the date when I applied and not to the date when my Visa runs out?

1. When applying for a Covid-Extension, I will first get an “Under Consideration”-Stamp and will have to come back later? What date will that approximately be? In one week, two weeks or some other time?

Anyone have been to CW in Bangkok in the last time and have some current info?

Thank you very much :-)
