I have a question that I've never seen here before. Would it be an issue every year to get the 90 day Non-O visa. That way I wouldn't have to keep 800k in the bank as my wife and I would be retiring in the Philippines since she is a Filipina. We want to spend at least 90 days a year in Phuket with my Thai friends, and also travel all around the region, spending maybe a month in Vietnam, a few weeks in Malaysia, etc.

As far as proving we have the 800k baht, or the 65k monthly requirement, that isn't a problem. I would assume they would accept our IRA statements, but is it wrong to assume that? I also would have well over the 65k baht a month in deposits for social security.

We don't want to PERMANENTLY retire in Thailand, we just want to be able to come to Thailand at least 90 days, and possibly five months out of the year, like maybe a 90 day stay and then a 60 day stay, something like that. Sorry for the long post. I'm trying to figure out how both my wife and I can do this when we move to SE Asia in 1 1/2 years, permanently.

I'd like to add, I am 68 and she is 52, so both of us are over 50.

For those who got a DTV with a family, how did the financial requirements work? Did you need 500,000baht per adult or per family? (Family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids under 10) Washington DC embassy, if that matters.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the group, so sorry if this question has been asked a million times already. Is there a visa that doesn't require 800k baht to be sitting in a Thai account for moths beforehand?

Hi All. I’m hoping to retire early to Thailand. I’ve got a lot of info from other members posts, but just recently I read a comment from someone comparing the cost of a retirement visa for Thailand with Vietnam. He stated 65k for Thailand and $25 for Vietnam. Could someone please give me an idea of the yearly costs for retirement visas, so I can factor this into my monthly outgoings before I make a decision on how early I can retire.

TIA Steve 👍

Hi, I need help and suggestions for applying dtv for the first time from Spain. I only have 500k THB in my business account and I don’t have any movement in the past 6 months in my personal account at all and the amount is only 10€ that I have in my personal account.

I’m not sure if there’s any option to apply for this? Like using sponsor account? without having to wait for another 6 month to build my personal account.

Thanks :)

Hello,

I am thinking of applying for a DTV from Vietnam and though I read many posts here I am still unsure whether the 500000 baht have to be in my bank account for 6 months? If not how long? Also, they have to be in one bank account or is it allowed to show several account that together have that sum?

I got married in December. I was on a 90 day O-visa. I want to be able to go to Thailand for 6months every year and spend 6 months back in USA. What's the best option for me? I was thinking marriage visa, is this my best option?

Planning on getting a non immigration O visa later this year. Although I am married to a Thai national I have seen perhaps as I’m over 50 and can afford the financial requirements a retirement visa might be the way to go as opposed to a marriage visa, any thoughts! Thanks!

Hi everyone, advice please..My retirement visa expires mid February..I don't want to put any of my UK investments in this year so will probably need an agent..I have approximately 700k thb in my account and need 400k to finish purchasing a house in Thailand..I have much usage of this account in 2024..I am considering getting married.would it pay me to get all documents necessary prepared now to get a marriage license registration and then marry asap as I have the required 400k already in the bank. Hope this makes sense, thanks for any input

Ok good people, I'm 54 I have a pension that pays over the DTV requirements, my wife is under 50 for the retirement visa and shares my income.

My question is, how do I get a DTV for both of us and is there a joint DVT and requirements?

We are UK based and are due in Thailand back end of February 25.

Thanks for any help.
