So a family applying for the DTV visa if both parents work remotly and married is it better to get two main DVT and a child dependent or one DVT with a spouse and child dependent visas. Do all applicants need access to the 500,000 THB in both cases or would we just need 500,000 THB between the three of us making it better to apply for the latter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A family considering the DTV visa options in Thailand is debating whether both parents should apply for separate DTV visas with a child dependent or if one DTV visa can be obtained for a parent along with visas for the spouse and child. The key financial requirement involves a 500,000 THB deposit for each applicant, which must be maintained to demonstrate financial stability. Discussions suggest that each applicant may need their own deposit, but some comments advise checking with the embassy for specific requirements.

The 500.000 Baht deposit is meant as guarentee that all DTV users always will be able to pay everything for them selves, even accidents and other sudden events, so they will not be a burden for the Thai citizens.

That’s also the reason why it will be unwise to dig to deep into the deposit, you may end up not being treated at hospital, until you have payed.

Or similar occurrences where a big amount of cash is needed.

That’s why most Embassies demands 2 times 500.000 baht deposits for 2 persons, each a seperat account in their own name.

The best of all is study for children, send them to school, then get Non-O Guardian based on the study, in the meantime you can also get Non-O ED for yourselves

But if you want to do the DTV then 500,000 for each applicant

Study for minors for example in Hua Hin can be as low as 5,000 per year per child

they are not school age yet. Does the child's and spouse have to be in their own bank account or can one family bank account have 1500,000 for all or at least 1000,000 for the parent and child. We don't want move money as say 3 months.

each applicant in each name. Check with your embassy if you have a double-name bank account and if they would accept. If it’s in a spouse name, then the second person needs to move money to their bank otherwise can only be dependant and not get own DTV, but it varies from embassy to embassy so vetting info in a group is pointless, please check with your embassy.

Ask the Embassy in the country you will be applying from as the answer can differ

You should maybe edit your comment. It's a bit hard to understand. 🤔

it’s actually very clear. One embassy’s requirements vary from another.
