I have a Work extension, and my non-Thai wife and son piggyback on this. It expires on 30 November 2024. I am just preparing the paperwork for our annual Immigration visit, and noticed that my 9-year-old son's UK passport expires on 27 October 2025. I don't have time to renew his passport before we go to Immigration.

My understanding is that he will only be given an Extension until 27 October 2025 (his passport expiry date). I will get his new passport in January and get the Extension date transferred.

My question is what will happen next year when we need to extend again in November? Will Immigration overlook a 34-day overstay for my son (28/10/2025-30/11/2025) as children can't be fined, and give him an Extension that matches ours?

Or, when we go to Immigration next month, should we all apply for Extensions up to 27 October 2025 instead of 30 November, to keep everything in sync?

Jakarta DTV update

My husband just got our 2 visas from the embassy!!! 🙌🏼😆

Documents provided

For him as main DTV holder:

- 500k THB on a bank account at date of application

- letter of acceptance from a Muay Thai school on Koh Lanta

- price 5,600,000 IDR

For me as spouse:

- proof of relationship - copy of our civil union certification from Amsterdam (NL)

- copy of his passport

He gave both applications on Monday around 1pm. And got the visas on Thursday at 1.30pm. 3 days like they announce on the website and when you drop the application.

I did not have to be present which allowed me to stay on Bali with our kids.

He only had to proove 1x 500k THB for both of us.

The MT school on Lanta gave a pretty high price to agree to give him the letter.

Note my husband DOES plan on training in MT but NOT everyday because as a family it just doesn’t work. And they were offering daily training at first.

He managed to get the price gor down a bit but still it was quite an expense. Something to take into account when applying for soft power DTV

I feel joy and relief that we are to enjoy Thailand again.

Also happy to answer any questions!

Hi all,

My wife and I have just had our work permit and visa finalised. We have a 2.5 year old son and have been told by parents and our employer that kids under 12 just get stamped in and out with parents. Thoughts? Experiences?

Hello everyone!

I have a non b visa, that originally expire date is end of Jan 2021, but my contract at work expire at the end of october, so my visa will be canceled. In this situation, my husband visa non o type, will still be valid until end of Jan 2021 or is automatically canceled?
