Happy New Year!!! I am seeing conflicting info on the interweb about visa runs through Ranong to Myanmar. Is it possible to do a visa run from Ranong to Myanmar by boat? Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Visa runs from Ranong to Myanmar can be complicated. Although there is no Thai consulate at the border, travelers can perform a border bounce to get a new 30-day Visa Exempt Entry or activate a Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant Visa. Individuals can take longtail boats to Kawthaung, with immigration processes taking about 15 minutes. However, obtaining a new visa would require traveling to a consulate.

Kawthaung is great for cigarettes and Alcohol. Big outlets 50 yards from the Pier at a third of the price in Thailand due to very little Tax.
Don't forget to ask for some free lighters 😉

You don't need agents to do a border bounce to Myanmar.
You can take longtail boats between Ranong and Kawthaung, taking 25 minutes and costing 100 Bhat. In Ranong the immigration office can be found at Saaphan Pla Pier. In Kawthaung, it can be found at the main jetty in the centre of town where the boat drops you off. Both offices are open from 7am to 5pm

I did border bounce April last year. 30 days.
Koh Phayam - Ranong - Myanmar.
2 speed boats, one taxi. Immigration’s at the jetty. Very fast and efficient. In and out in 15 minutes. Back on Koh Phayam for lunch. No problems

I don't see how it's possible to do a visa run by boat. You'd have to get off the boat, take a bus (or plane) to the Thai consulate in Myanmar, and get the visa there.
If you mean a border bounce, where you get another 30 day stamp, I'm not sure. Listen to
There is no Thai Consulate at the border. Visa run is not possible.
You can do a border run (stamp out Thailand, stamp in/out neighbor country, stamp into Thailand) to get a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry or activate a new 90 day (1 year) period on your Multiple Entry Non Immigrant Visa or a new 60 day period on your METV.
