Hi All, My 60days on entry will expire in March and I’m planning to go to both Krabi-Koh Lanta & islands there, and up to Ranong after… Can you advise if better to:

Option 1:

Cross into Malaysia for few days from Koh Lipe to Langkawi or other suggestion to get another 60days on the return trip back. In this case how long do I need to

stay on langkawi before entering back or is a day trip sufficient?

Likely it’s more costly option for the travel but I would get 60 days and no visa paperwork or cost.. right?

Option 2:

Renew my visa in immigration office in Ranong (before visiting Koh Chang) and pay for the 30 day extension? I’d have to go few days early to avoid the weekend when it’s closed and stay in hire there to get the Tm30 form.

… maybe there’s other good options you suggest too? Be really glad for advice based on your experience 🙏🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand as their 60-day entry visa is about to expire. They are considering two options: crossing into Malaysia (Langkawi) for a few days to obtain a new 60-day visa upon re-entry or renewing their visa at the immigration office in Ranong for a 30-day extension. One comment suggests that staying overnight in Langkawi will allow them to receive a new 60-day visa on their return.

Stay overnight on Langkawi (very nice island) and enjoy. You get a new 60 on return
