TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion confirms that same-day stamp out/stamp in for obtaining a new visa exemption at the Ranong border with Myanmar is still operational, as several users reported successful entries recently. There were varying accounts regarding the necessity of staying overnight elsewhere for other borders, emphasizing that as long as one has not exceeded the allowed number of entries, the Ranong route remains viable for quick visa runs. Multiple users shared their positive experiences and provided additional insights on logistics, such as using local boat services.

okay so now I believe we've gotten to the bottom of the question on whether you can bounce out&back in at the Ranong border with Myanmar. <- the answer is a yes..

Last month, no problem with passport full of tourist visa since 2015 .. upon departure officer gave me new arrival card and he said see you soon

Also the immigration officers were great. Very quick to stamp my passport and the only questions I was asked was if I wanted some papaya salad or a bottle of water for the boat ๐

I just did this last week! I didnโt see any tour groups or tourists at all. You can find someone Burmese to organize a boat for you right outside the immigration desk ๐ Let me know if you have any questions!
No I went from the pier with the local long tail boats. I would recommend it ๐ Was rather fun and the Burmese assist you with 100% of everything, even walk you directly to immigration
Googling around (in thai and english) I couldn't find anything recent that stated you can't border bounce at Ranong to Myanmar and back for a 30 day visa exempt entry (as long as you don't have two already) or to activate another entry on a valid multi-entry visa..
There's old articles but nothing new AND the visa run companies still list it in their websites as a place to bounce out and back in at too.
you're allowed TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31) I'd say you're fine bouncing out and back in there for a 30 day visa exempt entry.
I think your accountant was feeding you a line of crap. And seeing as a yearly extension costs just 1900baht at the immigration office I'd say something wasn't right with that at all :(
I do believe what they were saying was you can't get a year-long, multi-entry visa from the thai consulate in Penang anymore without being listed as the director of the company on the paperwork.
If they were saying you couldn't border bounce for another 90 day entry on a valid multi-entry visa at the Ranong border with burma, I believe they are totally wrong about that and you can bounce for 30 day visa exempt entries and to activate another entry on a valid visa.
I can't find any information that says you can't bounce there and given the number of people who use that crossing it'd be all over the inter-web by now if it had changed policy.
ok... my accountant told me that and paid 30k to instead get an extension and not have to do any visa runs at all, now just have to show up at immigration office in phuket every 3 month.
that is totally wacky, because it doesn't say on your visa WHAT you are in the company. In fact many times it doesn't even have the company name listed on the visa itself either. :/

Border bounce for existing multiple entry none b. I was told you must be a company director to do that at ranong now.
and are you talking about a VISA run to BUY a year-long multi-entry Non-B visa (which can't be done at Ranong anyway)
OR
Are you talking about bouncing out and in at the Ranong border with Burma to get another entry stamp on a currently valid Non-B multi-entry visa?

Not heared that border checkpoints are asking to see the work permit before stamping you in. Congratulations with your upgrade in the company, now Director in the work permit, I hope it also ment a pay raise.
multiple entry for business visa. I ended up paying for extension of stay and upgrading to director i think

Are you talking about a border run: Stamp out of Thailand, stamp in/out other country and stamp in Thailand for Visa Exempt Entry or new period of stay on your multiple entry visa OR a Visarun: Leave Thailand to apply for a new visa?

Visa run companies on the eastern islands now mention that border runs to Satun Malaysia are no more possible for a new Visa Exempt Entry. I also have one report of Padang Besar border to Malaysia. They want you to stay one night in Malaysia before return into Thaland.

Are there here some people with some recent experience on this border?
