TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost for a Thai national to obtain a visitor visa to the UK generally ranges from £100 to £115, with additional fees for biometrics and other processing costs that can add up to approximately £300 depending on whether you use an agent or apply independently. There are mixed opinions on using agents; some suggest it's unnecessary as much can be done online, while others advocate for it to ease the process, despite higher fees. Proof of return flight and financial stability are crucial for the application, and the process can be time-consuming and document-intensive.

It doesn't matter if you pay £100 or £1000 your lady will have to provide proof that she is coming back to Thailand after the holiday when she is at the interview in the embassy
. I’ve just done this for my girlfriend for a 2 year visa which was approx £430 direct to UK immigration via the website. If you’re not scared of a bit of work yourself it’s easy to do everything online where you can upload all your docs so no need to involve an agency who pretty much do nothing you can’t do yourself for thousands of Baht. There are no extra costs when your girlfriend goes to the embassy for biometrics and photographs if you’ve done everything correct but I did pay £10 to get her passport couriered back to her house. She didn’t have to prove she had a returning flight, I just uploaded a covering letter with all my details, address etc and excepting financial responsibility for her during her stay and saying she will always have a return flight. As you are sponsoring her the focus is on your situation and finances. The waiting period after the embassy appointment was
. Yes it’s all about a bit of work and being comprehensive. It’s better to overkill with the supporting docs than not to have enough. I sent pictures of my passport with stamps from my visits and uploaded pictures from my visit with my girlfriend and her family and friends etc. There’s a lot of scare mongering to encourage people to use agencies because it’s money for nothing. On the day of the appointment at the embassy the agency staff aren’t allowed in there to assist with this. When my girlfriend went for her appointment there were plenty of foreign/thai couples getting turned away because of poor planning. Her appointment not including the wait took about 15 minutes.
I've done my lady three years in a row. Last one took five days. Never used an agent, as there's nothing they can do except fill in the online form for you. Only mugs would pay that much money for an easy task! You've been duped, but you're not the first and you won't be the last!
interesting we only bought the flight tickets once the visa was approved, you don't need them to apply in fact the website actually says don't buy them until you know you have a visa.
I was refused the first visitor visa partly because I had not bought a return ticket. REFUSED, reason 3. I pointed this out to the visa Centre and they agreed their website says "Do not by a plane ticket until you have a visa".
She still could not catch the flight I had paid for. I bought the return ticket and the second application passed.
Yes. Some visa officer appointed to look at this Visa Application was in the Qata embassy. They don't process UK Thai visa applications to the U.K in Thailand to avoid corruption I'm guessing. They send them off to other embassies in other countries. I'm in the UK now and there is about to be a government change. At the moment there is a big problem with immigration here. 2.5 million immigrants in the last two years. So they are trying every trick to refuse visas of any kind. I married my Thai girlfriend this year but I can't live with her because you basically have to be very rich to do it. And I'm a secondary school teacher here.
so why Mary, if your a teacher you have the best chance to work in Thailand. I don't get it, you married a thai why, find a solution not a reason not to. You dont have to be rich to be happy. If legit people can get a visa, just have to tick all the boxes. Not sure why people want to marry a thai and move them, my reasoning would be to be in Thailand.
Well, I guess it's just too hot for me to live in Thailand. Although I am considering somewhere cooler in the hills of Chaing Mai. Plus I live near London and am used to a busy city with endless things to do.
I have enrolled my wife on a nursing course in Phuket so she can eventually get a work visa for the U.K. I also don't like the Farang culture in Thailand. It makes me quite annoyed when taxi drivers in Phuket rip me off. An English guy like me was also stabbed in Patong recently, by a 'taxi mafia', gang member. Thailand is not all kind smiles and buddist empathy. There is a very dark side that I have discovered. I'm sure it's a perfect place to live for many, but not me.

Visa is £115 plus any associated costs such as biometrics , return of passport to Thai address , translation and copying. This is if you do it yourself. Agents want more but still can only submit the same paperwork

baht which includes UK visa fee, travel insurance for your girlfriend and all translations and upload onto the UK visa website, they will also draft you a letter for you. Worth shipping around
I've done 3 x UK visas, 2 x Australia and 2 x Schengen for my lady. Never a problem. Most important thing, letter from employer showing position, length of service and salary. Next up bank statement showing good savings record. Thirdly any land/property holdings. They want to see reason for returning to Thailand. It gets easier the more visas they've already had.
Matt the cheapest without any translations of paperwork or help from agent is the UK fee for the application £115 + the additional cost of the VTS fees of £75 for biometrics and photo. This is done in Bangkok or chiang mai and has to be done in person. The amount of paperwork is a lot but all doable. The application should take 3 weeks although you can get it reviewed quicker if you pay a lot more £500!!!. No guarantee you will get a yes they just review it quicker. I have just done it with my girlfriend who was approved first time and is visiting in mid June. Good luck
why you commenting on a question regarding a visa for entering the Uk ,your not British.????

Approx , £100 Bronze service VISA, £20 extra document upload at visa centre. If you did it online yourself for a visitor visa.
You must prove she will stay with you in the UK or have hotel funds etc. Plus prove she will have a very good reason to return to Thailand.
