Can I use funds from my IRA for the DTV bank account requirements in Thailand?

I have an IRA that allows withdrawals that process to my other bank in 2-3 business days. I moved my 401k into it in March. Can I use that for the DTV bank?

I don’t really want to withdraw from the IRA to put into another account if I can avoid it. I can if required, but prefer not to do it. It shows I have well above the necessary funds for a DTV. I would like to take Thai cooking classes for at least a year.

If not, is a savings or checking account preferred for the DTV?
Summary so far
The user is inquiring whether funds from their IRA can be used for a Thai DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) application, while expressing a preference not to withdraw funds unless absolutely necessary. Comments suggest that the DTV visa requires 500,000 Thai Baht to be in a bank account in the applicant's name, and that the account should preferably be a savings or checking one. Some users mention that immediate access to the funds is crucial, while others point out that the Non-Immigrant ED visa might be a suitable alternative.

Most embassies want the money in a ready cash account. And depending on the embassy, you might need the $$ in the account for 3 months. Again, it is embassy specific.

I don’t think it will be approved because the funds has to be immediately available

Where will you be applying for the DTV visa?

What's your passport nation?

The requirement is for the 500,000 Thai baht to be in a bank account in your name only. Savings or checking account okay

On rare occasion, other types of accounts depend on the Thai Embassy or Consulate where you are going to submit the DTV visa application.

If it is only to visit a cooking school for max 1 year, get the Non Immirgant ED visa.

OMG, the Non Immigrant ED visa does not have a requirements of at least 3 months a minimum of 500.000 Thb in your account.

IT solves your problem.

I see you’ve removed the quoted text I posted as you know it was not respectful. Folks, look at his second response to see post history that it had the text I quoted of “IF you can do some research yourself”. Screenshot of edit history. This is treatment of a first post seeking information on the DTV in a group about the DTV. Why act this way to someone?

You will get many guesses from anonymous people.

Only the Embassy staff handling your application can tell if it is enough to issue the visa or not.

I'm not using crystal balls or day dream stories, I showed you an alternative.

choice is yours to read and use it or ignore all.

I want my actual question answered. I don’t want an ED visa. If the account isn’t satisfactory, then say so. I have triple the funds. I just prefer not to move them unless necessary. I have researched, but I’ve seen confusing results over bank account types. These funds are easily accessible. That’s why I asked. The purpose of this group is to ask questions. Why are you here if your response is to say “IF you can do some research yourself”. That seems contradictory to the group purpose
