*EDIT* - As some of you seem to lack the ability to read, I'll write it again here. This post was for INFORMATION only of an experience, that's it. If you want to argue, please do so elsewhere.

Just wanted to share my experience at BKK this afternoon - I have the DTV for workcation (online business) and have been travelling around South East Asia for the past year or so and have many stamps in and out of countries. The immigration officer (female) initially scoffed at my visa and I was escorted for questioning - after completing a passenger statement & a conversation with a very nice/polite immigration officer (male) I was allowed to continue into Thailand as normal.

He advised me that DTV holders should only stay for 3-4 months, not the full 6 months each time, as people should use the visa for travel.

UK passport holder - travelling in a couple (only female took for questioning not male).

Travelled from Vietnam to BKK (many others in the immigration holding also seemed to have travelled from Vietnam too).

*This is for information of my experience only - this group has a habit of fear mongering unfortunately but if you have the visa for the correct purpose then you should have no issues.*

Advice please !!! I stayed dec 2024/jan 2025 , may /jun 2025 , 2 weeks in oct 2025 When I arrived dec 11 for 6 weeks I was took away and questioned ( wasnt asked to see my money just my paperwork etc. Told to get a proper visa like a dtv but being over 50 later this year will be getting a retirement visa . If I return in may for say 3 weeks on visa exemption will I possibly get questioned again ? Will my passport have been possibly flagged . I haven't extended for a couple of years but obviously 2 month trips isn't your usual tourist . Just wondered what others think 🤔 thanks for any advice

ORIGINAL POSTER
Arrived at Chiang Mai airport this afternoon, 3rd entry on my DTV. Sawadee kaa, immigration lady pointed to the finger scanning machine, no questions asked, and gave me a 180 day stamp. No need to show a tdac or DTV visa, it was all in their computer.

Meanwhile I saw several people in the queue in front of me getting a grilling about how many days stay, hotel booking, and onward flight. One guy was getting interrogated for a long time about his “friend’s” address where he was staying in CM, why he was coming for short frequent trips, whether he was working in Laos, and whether he had a Thai wife.
