Why am I getting an error message when paying for my visa on the Thai Visa website?

Mastercard credit card not accepting,used VIsa debit card all ok.90 day O visa took 2 days

I couldn't pay using my phone and got an error code several times trying to pay. Worked fine using a computer

I remember I had to use a Visa card, not a Mastercard

My husband had this problem all week and finally got his METV processed yesterday. We called the Thai Embassy in NY and she told us to:

Clear the cache

Try different browsers

Press control and F5 on PC

Use a debit card

What actually happened is that we used a debit card and the Thai bank - Kasikorn refused it. The bank contacted my husband’s bank in the US and told them it needs to be authorized by my husband. When he told his bank it was fine to make this payment, he put the payment through on the application and it was processed.

This was a very frustrating experience to say the least. The Thai Embassy’s Visa Officer was fantastic, very nice and very helpful.

Okay, you tried 2 different browsers but what browsers were they?

I never use Safari for payments. It didn’t work for me so many times I’ve given up on it.

I like Chrome. Many people use Firefox for payments.

Yes it just happened to me today. The same thing. I just applied for a new visa all over again and it worked.

Are you at the official website? Clear your browser cache and use incognito mode. Or wait a few hours as Thai IT leaves much to be desired.
