What payment options are safe for booking an AQ hotel in Thailand, and how can I ensure I receive the necessary documents for my visa?

Hello, So I have another question, currently I am about to do a payment for a 10 day aq hotel. They want my full credit card details on a form, through their email, it's not a scam email but I'm very uncomfortable with that. If I book 10 day on a aq hotel on agoda do I get a confirmation in a email with everything I need for a visa or is it just registered as a aq option on agoda how do I specify the booking on agoda, and where can i pay for aq hotels with actual payment links?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around concerns regarding providing full credit card details to an AQ hotel via email for a 10-day booking. Users suggest safer payment methods like bank transfers, PayPal, or using a service like Wise to get a virtual card for secure transactions. It is also mentioned that booking through Agoda should be followed up with the hotel to obtain necessary documents for visa entry into Thailand. Direct communication with the hotel post-booking can lead to receiving proof of accommodation required for visa applications.

I booked SHA+ on Agoda, then contacted the hotel via email and messenger, and within a few hours I received 2 copies of SHABA certificate.

The same is offered for AQ hotels.

You just have to book through the Agoda link for Thai AQ hotels

my bank info has MY MONEY, a credit card does not. I trust giving my card # to a hotel, but even though I believe money transfer apps such as Wise is a safe alternative, the app has access to my bank info, and that info is shared on the internet. Just my personal preference, but I don’t like using cash, and my bank info to transfer is cash, my cash.

up to you i understsnd the poster not wanting to send full details of his card through e mail, which is not 100 % secure.

When you do a bank transfer they (the hotel) know what bank its coming from the account name but no other details.

Dont know why your talking about apps i never mentioned them once.

Hang on a bit. Everything here is closed and/ or restricted . Covid spiking.

The Nov 15 opening is tentative at best.

Also, cases dropping. Doesn’t look like a spike to me.

Beaches still there ? Thai food still being cooked ? Wanting to help the thai economy out a bit ? Let’s go.

I would book directly from the hotel. It’s safer to ask them for a p2p link. Or for a cheaper alternative, my asq gave me an option to pay from the wise app. You would get all the asq documents required for proof to enter Thailand faster by their staff.

Are you fully vaccinated?

Where are you flying from to Thailand?

Ask them for a secure payment method or tell them to take a hike.

Lots of members of this group use ‘Wise’ (previously transferwise) you can instantly on the app get a virtual card number, which gives you the expiry date, card number and 3 digit security code. It’s good for one use only. Perfect when you are giving your number over the phone or as you mentioned

If you don’t have it, here’s a link (which won’t make me rich)

The link also gives you a fee free transfer of up to 500€
