I heard Ed Thai visa cannot be done from Thai embassy anymore and it is done by applying and submitting papers online only and getting the stamp in passport upon arriving. My question is what is the mode of payment? Is that limited to online payment? And what can I do if my card just expired few days ago and it’s gonna take over two weeks for replacement. Is there any other way to pay?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The payment method for the Ed Thai visa application primarily depends on the location from which you are applying. While many Thai embassies require online payment via card, some allow in-person payment. If you face issues with your credit card, such as it being expired, you can consider having a friend or family member pay on your behalf using their card, allowing you to reimburse them in cash.
If the Thai embassy in the country where you are applying from (where you physically are) only accept card payment, then get a friend/college/family to pay with a card and give them cash. It's not a fortune.
How you pay depends on where you are. If you go to Laos you will fill out and submit everything online but you must pay in person. Same for Myanmar and a few other Thai embassies. But for most you must pay online via card.
