Just a couple of quick notes as I'm just back from Laos. Been many times before covid flying one way and was never asked to show anything. But this time my paranoia made me book an onward flight. Good things as I was asked during check in with Lao Airlines at Swampy. They also asked to see cash enough for the visa. 1700 baht lol.

As I was sat in Laos preparing to attempt my Thai re entry, I started to look at the TDAC thingy. In general, I think it works quite well. What frustrated me was the country selectors (there are two on the way towards submission.) They're an absolute mess! Country codes makes no sense, countries doesn't seem to be in any semblance of order, auto suggestion if you just start with like "D" didn't seem to work. So I would suggest starting a few days before intended arrival.

Oh, and Beerlao + pizza at Tyson remains as tasty as always (shame about Bor Pen Yang, though).

Doing my Due Dilligence on British Passports:

If I retire to Chiang Mai, what is the process for renewing my British Passport. I know I can do this online, but it's the process of then getting the new Passpport/returning the old one that I can't seem to find information on.

Hey guys! I'm going kinda crazy with the DTV visa requirements and was hoping someone could help me understand this situation better.

I meet all the requirements, but I would like to link my spouse as my family member to my application. However, he does not meet the financial requirement.

The Thai Embassy in Argentina said that he must also meet the financial requirements, even if he applies as my family member.

And I just can't understand what's the point of applying as a family if he's going to be treated as an independent applicant at the end.

Also, in other agencies websites they say that you in fact CAN apply just as a dependant or family member, so I'm completely confused.

Has any of you been in this situation or has a recommendation?

Anyone with any experience of:

1. Border bounce to get a fresh 180 days (Satun Malaysia)

2. Filing 90 day report late. Tried to file on time, told that for DTV I need. TM30. Landlord then took ages to get me a TM30. I understand its a 2k baht fine.

The application for my kids is taking a long time. Submitted ok the 14th and still pending document check.

We were supposed to fly back to Thailand this Saturday, so I need to change our flight to a later date.

Would it be wise to extend for a week or would 2 weeks be better just to be safe?

07.05.25 Looking for a Gym nearby which is capable of providing all the documents

08.05.25 Paid Gym and got all documents

09.05.25 Email to Issa with:

1. Hotel Booking in Indonesia (with 5 business days needed, can cancel after screenshot and make different plans)

2. ID-Style Headshot Photo

3. Muay Thai documents - the gym prepared everything in Thai language:

(a. Business Registration,

b. ID of Owner,

c. Certificate from Sport Authority of Thailand Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Thailand,

d. Engagement Agreement (6months),

e. Invitation Letter,

f. Picture of Payment)

4. Bank Statements for last 6 months with 500k+ THB (In German language)

5. My Health Insurance (not necessary but i thought it might help)

6. Every page of my passport

10.05.25 Flight to Bali, Issa did application online same day

20.05.25 Got Email with approved Visa (10 Days for visa including weekends and public holidays), no additional q ask etc..

21.05.25 Fly back to Phuket with printed out DTV, got pulled aside immediately when the IO saw DTV, another IO gave me a form to sign with information about me and my visa. I needed to send my DTV documents to an email from their immigration. After more questions about my plans and the length of my stay - 180d stamp

Unfortunately I got email reply my visa application has been cancelled:

Documentary requirements not satisfied

May I check what is this meaning? My document is in problem or my criteria not meet?

Was anyone got the same reply? Could you please share your experience, I don’t know what was happening even they didn’t ask for additional documents and reject my application by the 6-7 working days.

I will apply for a DTV visa in Jakarta. Can anyone tell me how long it will take? I will come and apply with a 30 day visa. Do I have to show a life insurance certificate? Two friends who want to apply in May. Can you give me an update? What are the chances of getting a visa? Is that possible?

Has anyone done a seminar (besides discover thai nature)? I am interested in Thai architecture or something like that.

I am on DTV. On first entry I stayed in a hotel then got a condo.

I am currently out of Thailand and will be back in a few weeks.

If the IO asks about my accommodation, Can I mention that I have got a condo on an annual lease? And show if the lease document if asked.

Or rather, I should do a hotel booking and cancel it later.

What people are doing usually?

I am sure they hardly ever ask for accommodation, but just in case.
