Hey guys, as a fellow digital nomad I have no permanent residency, I've been living in Airbnbs for over a year now, is this going to be a problem when applying for the DTV? Does anyone know what I can use as a proof of address since I have nothing to show?

This may seem like a stupid question, but what is the advantage of the DTV over simply playing the visa extension and border bounce game. It gets one to 180 days before needing to fly out and back again. Is this a new and expensive replacement for that process? I honestly don’t know because I’ve lived in Thailand for the past 5 years on a Non-Immigrant B visa.

Business meeting - visa type

Since I was few times in Thailand as an employee (with non-imm visa + workpermit) and as a tourist as well, my friend asked for my advice about what visa type he really needs for a casual business meetings in Thailand. I checked the latest immigration rules, I believe made in July 2024, but honestly Im a bit lost in this matter.

He does not own a business, he is a regular blue collar worker who was requested by his employer to meet some clients in Thailand from time to time.

Previously when I was applying for a job I got non-immigrant Visa + workpermit but I was literally hired by a company in Thailand. In his case he does not want to start a business nor being hired there, just a meeting once a month.

What I have read is that you can do some casual business activities on a tourist stamp on arrival but this seems a bit inconsistent between Thai Embassies in different countries (different explanations on their webpages).

So the questions is...does he need to apply for business visa or business visa + work permit or can use 60days stamp on arrival as a tourist? Getting invitation letter from Thai company is not an issue for him.

Basically he wants enter the Kingdom fully legally with all the proper paper work done but the current rules seems a bit unclear.

PS. He asked visa agency but they gave him some "outdated" answer I would say.

Appreciate your help in this matter.

TM30 online registration question:

I own a Condo but still only travel with 60day exempt stamp to Thailand for vacation.

Most of those trips do include border crossings and trips to other SEA countries like Cambodia, Lao and Vietnam.

Now I have registered an account and got my condo address approved from the TM30 website but reading instructions I am a bit confused as it mentions I have to provide the TM30 certificate export to an immigration officer: [members only]

I am wondering how many TM30, each entry into Thailand???, I have to get done and really need to provide the certificate to the immigration office?

How are you handling this with real property in Thailand but not living there?

Hi, do I need to do 90 day reporting for DTV if I have already left the country and came back within the past 180 days?

I got my dtv about 70 days ago, and recently left Thailand and came back. Do I need to go to immigration to do 90 day reporting soon or did it already reset since I left the country recently?

UPDATE: APPROVED!! The same day of payment! The application went from “ready to submit-awaiting paymentnt” when we woke up, to “paid” after he went and fixed their little mistake giving the rest of the 9k baht at 9am (see below), to APPROVED by 2pm😄

Highly recommend the Savannakhet consulate in Laos!!! Just make sure they dont get confused by how much money you owe them when you get to the consulate to pay😉

Anyone else apply in Savannakhet Laos? Submitted the application yesterday, this location requires you to apply online, then go to the consulate and pay the visa fees in person 10k baht.

Well today my husband who is applying as a spouse on my DTV visa (acquired in Teipei in November) went to pay with the 10k baht in hand. For some reason they only took 1k baht and handed him back the rest. Super odd right? Has this happened to anyone else?

Any ideas why they didn’t just take the 10k?
