Hello. I opened my account with Bangkok bank a while back on my tourist visa, today I went onto my banking online, it’s locked and I can’t withdraw from the atm. I go to the bank and they tell me it’s because of my visa (DTV)they can’t open my bank and tell me they will call me later today or tomorrow to see if they can unlock 🤯 has anyone been in this situation?

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Went to the bank and showed them my passport , lease and mobile phone bill. Unfortunately I spoke to the wrong person and she closed my account without letting me talk to the manager. I have lived in Thailand for 3 years and use my account for daily living expenses.

I haven't personally hut it was a major headline a couple of months ago. Bangkok Bank were stopping all accounts opened under a tourist visa, as far as I have seen some have been able to keep them open once further checks have been made but the majority have been closed and now most banks in Thailand will not let you open a bank account on a tourist visa.

Same situation. We had to fill up some forms. We had to confirm our residence, job contract, income, National ID/ Driver Licence, Passport, Visa. And they said it'll take probably a week and call us back. As of now, we cannot take out the money, or close the accounts.
