I've been approved for a DTV and already have yearly travel insurance but which has minimal cover and never been claimed on etc.

What's the best option here for spending the year in Thailand as a very healthy UK male in his 50's?

I applied on 11 September at the Jakarta Embassy for the Muay Thai Soft Power route. Around 17 September, I received a request for all passport pages. Around 24 or 25 September, I received a request for proof of experience and interest in Muay Thai.

Today, on 29 September, the status changed to “Pending Approval” at 10 a.m., but at 6 p.m.(embassy works till 5pm for info) it suddenly changed back to “Processing – Pending Document Check (1),” even though I didn’t upload any new documents. How and why did this happen?

I'm seeing a few posts recently where people are saying that immigration do not like in country extensions on the DTV and prefer you to do a border bounce. And also that Bangkok Bank (and perhaps soon others) are shutting down accounts for DTV holders.

We have Bangkok Bank accounts, opened years ago when we lived there. Also a Krung Thai bank account. No issues so far. Currently we are off shore.

We qualify for DTV, LTR or retirement. We have an online business that produces passive income and have savings.

I'd like to hear from holders of each to see which is better and if you've had any trouble before with extensions. Thanks.

I’d like to apply for the DTV visa (soft power) in Vientiane, Laos. I meet all the requirements, but I am currently unemployed. Do you also need to show a stable monthly income in Laos, or is having a large amount of savings in the bank (well over 500,000 THB) sufficient? Thankyouu

Can you get a DTV visa whilst your in Thailand, I ask this because outside the immigration centre in Pattaya there’s a place with a big sign advertising DTV 🤔🤔🤔

Looking at coming back to thailand again soon. Currently in Indonesia, have seen a fewpost's now so want to hear peoples experiences..

Keep seeing and hearing about people being told at airline boarder that they've stayed in Thailand 'too long' and this would be their last time being given 60 days visa exemption.

Whats your experiences? Did the IO ask to see your outbound flight or proof of hotel booking etc?

Fyi I was in Thailand last year 3 times 2 airline entry and 1 boarder crossing

Has anyone managed to get there Bangkok bank account closed down and money refunded without having to go back to the bank that you originally set it up with? If yes can you please share your experience. Would rather not have to fly back to the original branch and waste time and money if it can be helped
