Taxes in Thailand:

So as far as I know, once someone is staying in Thailand 180 days or more a year, he is considered a tax resident.

I know that only income remitted into Thailand and earned after January 1st 2024 is taxed.

Can anyone shed light on what it actually means? I don't intend to open a bank account in Thailand, I only work with cash, meaning that (as far as I know) I don't need to pay taxes in Thailand (I pay in my home country of course).

Do I need to file any forms? Declare anything? If so which one and how is it done?

I can't find too much concrete information addressing the practical steps needed to be taken. Anyone got any more details on the matter?

Hello and good day, the following situation: I have a business mental coaching and of course have a business registration. If I now want to apply for a new visa for Thailand, for example, is a copy of the business registration sufficient or does it have to be translated into English and certified by someone beforehand, or is this official business registration sufficient and the officials will accept it as it is?

In addition to this, the question is whether 30,000 Baht or 500,000 bht is required as a one-off deposit. I have heard that these 30,000 bahts per month also have to be proven through pensions, for example. Who has their information about this? Or do the officials there want to see proof of where the 30,000 bht came from?

Finally the question, who has experience with these visas to get a bank account in Thailand, is this recognized?

Otherwise, I wish all digital nomads here a lot of fun in Thailand, good business and always a diplomatic hand and sometimes I wish that the comments here weren't so ridiculous or that the whole thing was taken a bit more seriously. Thank you.

What did you provide as part of your application for the bank statements? Were paper statements printed by the bank required or were you able to use a PDF electronic statement generated by the bank's app or website?

Reminder to check your entry stamp right away. I just got stamped with a 60-day visa exempt while the DTV sticker is in the second page of my passport. Turned around immediately and the immigration officer corrected it after pointing out the visa. She then told me to show the visa page next time. I guess they can’t see you have a visa in the system when they scan your passport after all…

Hi guys,

Can you help with some clarification please ?

I applyed for a tourist visa (single entry) online and it was approved

All good - now my question is about the email with the visa that i received - start and end date is the date that i received the email and is confusing me a little bit..

It should be 3 months visa ,right ? I should ignore that ? Also visa starts from when i land or from when was approved online ?

PS.: i plan to travel to Thailand in December

Thank you

Hi! I'm a PhD researcher preparing to move to CM to do qualitative (interview) PhD research for my school in the US. I need to hire 2 native Thai research assistants. Do any of you have experience or knowledge in hiring practices and laws for hiring Thai research assistants? Please let me know or connect me with someone who knows. Thank you so much!

I’m currently in Canada and need to renew my Thai drivers license to get credit for my driving history when applying for a new Canadian driver’s license. Anyone know of a way to do that without being in Thailand?
