yup I always choose a male officer if I can. Had some nasty experiences in the past with female immigration officers. They’re more likely to want to abuse their power in my experience.

yep should be fine. But if you have regular income that would strengthen your case. However, Another guy that was there didn’t have that and he still got approved. They did ask where the funds came from in the form of an invoice, sales contract or something like that.

I would suggest providing bank statements of at least 3 months showing money coming in, plus corresponding invoices. This seemed to be important when I applied.

I got an email back from the Hanoi embassy saying they need 6 months. Pretty sure HCMC is the same.
