Just successfully got the DTV visa. Since this visa is already a multiple entry, do we still need to apply multiple entry at the airport when leave Thailand the first time with DTV?

Hi guys I have applied for DTV in Penang Malaysia and would like to know if I could travel to Thailand as I have already sticker Visa as visitor before applying DTV. Would there be any issue?

DTV Nuanced question.

I understand that I’m allowed to work remotely in Thailand with clients from outside the country but not to work with Thai clients or be directly involved in Thai businesses.

But, how about in-person events held in Thailand, organised by DTV holders who target foreign clients?

From my experience, I’ve seen some businesses in Thailand (for example organized events, or retreat centers) who invite foreign guest teachers for short-term events while the teachers are on tourist visas (short term business), and nothing wrong or ilegal seems to happen.

With a DTV Visa, would I be able to legally:

- Held an in-person event in Thailand at a venue that regularly hosts other foreign guest teachers for similar in-person events?

Clients attending such events would mostly be foreigners.

Do you have any advice on this?

Is there someone else you recommend I consult? (Currently consulting a Thai accountant).

During this past week, several Thai Embassies and Consulates around the world have officially announced and posted Notices that they will go to the Thai E-Visa website [members only]/ system to accept Thai E-Visa applications, process, and issue Thai E-Visas starting on the New Year, 01 January 2025.

Generally, they will stop accepting in-person visa application submissions and stop issuing Thai Visa Stickers on Christmas Eve, 24 December 2024, with a few Thai Embassies/Consulates stopping before that on 20 December 2024 or earlier. At Taipei, they will stop on 27 December 2024.

Do note the processing times with Thai E-Visa are longer than before with many announcements stating 10–15 working days to process and issue Thai E-Visas.

Also, some Thai Embassies/Consulates will NOT be accepting card payments via the Thai E-Visa website, but will instead be accepting payments in Cash after submitting an Thai E-Visa application via the website.

Those Thai Embassies/Consulates that have announced this different method of payment (Cash) are: Vientiane, Savannakhet, Yangon, India, Brunei, Pakistan, Tel Aviv, Jordan, others....

These announcements are in line with the stated goal of the Thai Government to change all 94 Thai Embassies/Consulates around the world to the Thai E-Visa website system by December 2024.

I'm after some advice regarding temporarily leaving Thailand. I have a NON-O retirement visa with a multiple-entry stamp.

One stamp states "Please contact immigration for a RE-ENTRY permit before leaving Thailand", and another states "To keep your stay permit, re-entry permit must be made before leaving Thailand"

Do I need to do this as I have a mulitple-entry stamp. If so, how do I get re-entry permit anf how long does it take

My retirement visa is due 12 month renewal. Can I renew this at phetchabun or do I need to return to Chiangmai where it was originally issued.

I wanted to share my recent experience regarding the DTV visa application. I submitted my visa application on December 9th and received my approved visa on December 12th! 🥳

The process was very simple and efficient. The documents required are quite straightforward:

- Employment contract

- Proof of my work through emails or client references

- Thai bank statement for the last 6 months with a balance of over 500,000 THB

A big thank you to the Thai Embassy in Vientiane for their excellent service. I highly recommend going through them if you need a DTV visa.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I don’t know how to move forward from here, there’s no way to contact them, they have nothing on their website, no email, chat, and their phone number is not working - I paid the $500 so it’s frustrating to be stuck like this. Is there anyone I can contact?

I’m very confused, I don’t know even know what it means that the country didn’t match the passport - Im a US citizen with a US passport, so I’m confused what didn’t match.

EDIT: I applied online in Indonesia, my passport is USA, never went to an embassy.

Approved🙏 online E-visa DTV soft power/Muay Thai, with an ongoing membership at a Muay Thai gym that I already had since last year.

- 5th December 10pm submitted

-9th requested more things (my e fligh ticket, and 3 different documents from my Muay Thai gym)

-10th sent them

-12th December 10pm accepted

Was surprised when it got improved at that time since it’s 5am in Thailand at that time.

I have just extended my 60 days visa free with 30 day extension. I fly to Malaysia in January for a few days with my Thai girlfriend and I'll hopefully get another 60 days on return.

I want to convert to retirement visa but I read that you have to have money in a Thai bank for 3 months first but I also read you cannot do this if here as a tourist.

Is anyone able to advise the best way to get this done? Pay for visa agency or is it possible to do myself? Do I have to be out of the country to arrange? I am able to transfer 800,000 thb into a Thai bank account if I can open one.

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before but it's all very confusing when trying to arrange for the first time.

Any help would be appreciated 😀
