I came to Thailand 3 years ago on 30day visa exempt (now 60 day),I stupidly did not research everything before I came ,I was told I would have to return to the uk to get my non o 90 days , I went back to immigration and a different officer told me I could do it in Vietnam, after speaking with my thai step son we tried again with him helping with the language difficulties ,a 3rd officer said no problem I got a 30 day extension ,filled the forms for non o ,got that opened an account with 800,000 and im still here ,but I wouldn't recommend it I think I was just lucky ,and it depends on the immigration officer 😀
My stepson went with me to kasikorn bank last month ,I opened a savings account (at his suggestion) with just my pink id card ,not a problem they didn't even ask for my passport ,a mistake on their part ? Who knows,😀
I had a bank account in Thailand for 15 years with krungsi in joint names with my wife ,when I came to retire 3 years ago they would not let me open an account in just my name to deposit 800,000,for visa requirements,I closed the account withdrew my money,1.5 million went to bangkok bank and opened 2 accounts 1 in joint names I in just my name for the visa ,I didn't show it had come from abroad but had no problem with the visa 😀
I came to Thailand 3 years ago on 30day exempt ,I stupidly did not do research before ,went to immigration to be told I had to return to the uk to get non o ,I was then told I could apply in Vietnam, I was then told I could apply in bangkok ,went back to immigration and a different officer said no problem ,was issued with non o ,then retirement visa ,so it can be done but would recommend doing things right 👍🏻
Farang Walking i purchased our land 18 years ago ,they explained i couldn't own the land ,but my wife could not sell without my permission, fortunately I never had to find out as we are still together 😀
no more than 3 days before travel you can fill in the form at kiosks in the airport before you go to immigration, but to avoid delays best to do before
