This is pretty normal haha. When I lived in Samut Prakan the taxis never knew where I was going. Only when I learnt to say the Soi name properly in Thai did I get home gone every time. I usually had to give a station name, then direct them to my flat in Thailand to get there.

No that's definitely not right. You've probably got long standing bank accounts which gives you a good credit rating. Definitely no need to do that. Scam?

it should be done every time you return from travel to your rental place. Valid until you leave again. That was my understanding.

You can ask your landlord for the login details to fill it out yourself on his/her behalf. Our landlord did this for us because she was always too busy to do it. We then just printed it all out and took it to immigration. So we would just fill it in every time we returned from a trip.

I pay for my own private Thai tutor. She's absolutely amazing and teaches you how to read and speak Thai. It's very worth it.

You can extend it once to get the extra 15 days. But it does cost 1900 baht. It's annoying they didn't extend it. Our trip was planned around it now we have to pay to extend.
