don’t know, maybe it took a while for Thai consulates around the world to implement a directive. SA is the only country I know that requires you to apply for visa in your home country or the country where you reside. Similar to METV requirements.
I’m pretty sure it’s a reciprocity thing: you can apply for SA visa only in your home country (or in the country where you have residency) so SA citizens can apply for Thai visa only in their home country. I think it’s fair treatment.
SA embassy in Thailand, Australia and USA refused my visa application while I was travelling around the world and instructed me to go back to my home country to apply for a visa.
...and every time she enters another 60 day period will be activated. So if she enters the on “use before date”, she can get almost 9 months of stay from that visa (provided she extends the last 60 days with 30 days)
Might be a reciprocity thing for SA. Last year, while travelling around the world for 10 months, I tried to get a tourist visa for SA and I was refused in USA, Thailand and Australia. All of them told me to get a visa from the SA embassy at home, visa that has to be used within 1 month from issuing date.
