I’m being told that because the embassy needs your physical passport that this can not be done while you are traveling, I’m trying to confirm this info but this is where I’m at right now

What Kathy could have meant is that it’s pretty worthless to issue them if you are still not allowed to travel to thailand, there’s only about 30 countries taking tourism visas

There’s only 30 countries on the list of allowed low risk countries, which they said will be updated twice a month. If your country is having an infection spike don’t expect to get in for tourism

I normally do my own visa stuff as well, but if I get the opportunity for a STV I will be doing it through a company, there’s a lot to be said for when to do something yourself and when to have someone else do it, and not just for visas
