Be aware and inform yourself properly that you’ll get in back with the tourist visa or if they wanna see a Non B. I am in exactly this situation right now. Stuck in Malaysia, waiting for a NonB visa although the papers for my new work permit were already prepared. Didn’t get an interview or anything, just denied. I even informed myself when I was in Europe 6 weeks ago what’s best and got the information from the embassy, that it shall be easy with the tourist visa, just to enter to finalise the paperwork. Now I’ve learned that, after you had a work permit already, they assume you wanna come back for business related reasons and don’t give you the tourist visa.
Or be prepared with a ticket out after 7 weeks and hope you’ll get an easy person at the immigration who believe you come back as a tourist.
Happened to two other friends too.
Please inform yourself in advance properly and be aware that you need to leave the country to apply for a non B visa. And that this can take up to 4 weeks, depending of your lawyer and how fast he gets your required documents done. I hope everything will run smooth for you.
