oh ok...i always get ultra-cheap flights to hanoi on TG and use a corporate code at the Hanoi Hilton Garden Inn so its a nice cheap holiday compared to days of paperwork, stress, possible denial, and government payment. No thanks.

Its ironic, you get to stay for 180 days and must report every 90; now that I'm living in Thailand I travel so much I haven't made it to a 90-day report once. :P

Maybe I'm missing something here or don't understand "extension", but why go through all that work when you could fly to Hanoi for a couple of days, come back and start over? It's that a hell of a lot easier? Or am I being stupid about it?

Its the departure airport, where the whole trip began. I put Des Moines; now obviously I'm not flying to BKK from DSM, but DSM is the port of embarkation.

Thank you; the only reason I went was to do some business with HSBC, unfortunatelay I have to go back to Saigon this time but once this account gets opened I have no plans in the near future to return to VN, although our trip turned out to be much more fun and exciting than expected. We were in Hanoi.
