I submitted early January (workation) with flight booked for 28th. They requested additional info after 3 weeks and approved within 2 days of me providing the additional docs.

I applied from the UK and did get asked to provide 3 months of payslips as an additional info request. I had only been with the company for just over a month so only had 1 payslip available from them. I drafted an explanation letter, added it to the start of the payslips pdf and included a few payslips from my previous employer as well. This was accepted but I may have just been lucky.

I provided a copy of my confirmed flight ticket from UK to Thailand (which I think is one of the examples they provide). I worked on the assumption that they would think that I must be in the UK to make use of that ticket. This worked successfully for me, but I may have just been lucky

If applying from the UK, then you will probably be fine if your final closing balance is above 500k - that was the same position as me. As a tip, highlight the incoming salary payments on your bank statements (along with a note explaining) aligned with payslips to avoid the need for providing further info later

As part of the additional information requested by London (workation), they asked what I would be doing during the 5 years. My response was that myself and my Wife (Thai) would be exploring all areas of Thailand with a view to deciding where to settle in the future.

I provided a copy of my airline booking confirmation for the flight from where I was applying to Thailand. My thinking was that they will assume I must be in that country to have a flight out. This worked for me and the DTV got approved (London)
