Buy a SIM card and keep it topped up. I did this as a back up. With all the rooms being full in a hotel the internet is good at times and other times not so good.

This is a great app But you will find if you are outside North America in some countries you can’t download the app. If you can it is the best app to call North America. All call are free but if you do not use the app you will less the app due to inactivity.

You cannot drive legally with your UK drivers license. The international drivers permit allows you to drive in a country which has reciprocal agreements. But this is only meant for you to drive for a short period of time as if you were on holidays. Once the office opens take with you your UK drivers license, Certificate of Residency and Medical Certificate which you can get at most clinics for 200 BHT. Go Early

Steve I now that but when you want the simplest way it is with a Visa company. Especially if you don’t meet the requirements on arrival for first time. In two weeks you have your retirement visa for one year and the following year you will have all your ducks in a row

Just have to advise Immigration in Phuket of your new place of residence.

He can come to Thailand and a Visa Agency will get him a retirement visa but will cost him about 30,000 THB.
